Needling
Needling at St. Andrew’s Podiatry is an effective treatment for treating multiple verrucae. This treatment can be successful within the first session.
We have had great results with needling in the clinic, and if the verruca is still present four months after treatments, a second needling session is offered at a reduced fee.
Needling is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure that does not require anaesthetic and is often used to treat multiple verrucae. It involves puncturing the verruca with a fine needle to create small holes in the surface of the skin. This causes an inflammatory response within the tissue, creating an environment less conducive to virus replication.
The procedure itself takes only a few minutes, and the patient can return to normal activities almost immediately after the treatment
Nail Surgery
At St. Andrew’s Podiatry, we provide nail surgery for people suffering from ingrown toenails. This minor procedure is used to alleviate any discomfort caused by the condition and involves numbing the toe with a local anaesthetic. The offending nail can either be partially or completely removed depending on the severity of the problem.
Once numb, the procedure will only take around 45 minutes to complete. Following the surgery, the patient will need to undergo a period of rest and dressing changes. The amount of recovery time varies depending on treatment options and individual cases.
Before any nail surgery is performed, our team of specialists may need to liaise with your GP to determine suitability for surgery
