Home visits and evening appointments on request
St Andrews Podiatry treats all forms of foot health problems. Ranging from corns, callus, ingrown toenails and verrucae. We also treat sports injuries and are able to prescribe orthotics (corrective insoles). We specialise in Nail Surgery. We take pride in the friendly atmosphere in our practice and the quality of our Podiatric care.
Podiatry (the modern name for chiropody) is a specialist area of healthcare, allied to medicine which involves the care and maintenance of foot and lower limb conditions. As podiatrists, our aim is to improve the independence, mobility and general quality of life of our patients. A podiatrist can treat a whole host of foot related conditions.
Podiatry and Chiropody are protected titles. A Podiatrist must spend at least 3 years at university.
Both of us at St Andrews Podiatry care about you and want to do all we can to keep you on your feet! We will listen to your concerns and tailor
your treatment to suit your particular needs. We have a wealth of experience between us and can usually come up with a solution to anything!
Most of our new patients come through personal recommendation - friends, family or their GP - and we hope this is because we treat our patients as we would like to be treated ourselves!
The National Health Service provides Podiatry treatment but this service is mainly for high risk patients with medical conditions like Diabetes etc. Most NHS clinics are very full and it can be difficult to get an appointment, with waiting times of 3 - 6 months not uncommon. Most NHS Podiatry departments have adopted a policy of non-routine treatment and are currently unable to perform the task of nail cutting. This is sad, as nail cutting is important to everyone and we are happy to offer our nail cutting service.
